We believe that exercising is one of the key building blocks to becoming the best you can be. This week on our social media accounts, we provided tips and tricks on how you can be bold, raw, inspired, and extraordinary through exercise, and we hope you continue to use those in your daily lives. With gyms closed, it can be so hard to find the motivation to keep moving and to get your heart rate up while at home. Even during this time of quarantine, you can still find creative ways to exercise. Working out not only effects how you look on the outside, but also improves how you feel on the inside. Today, we want to give you 3 tips to help you transition to working out at home.

First, set reachable goals for yourself. It’s hard to start if you don’t know where you are headed. Each day create a new goal for yourself. Your goals may look different from your friend or sibling, because we are all unique. Whether you are a beginner, or an experienced gym member, you should have a plan. If you want to become a better runner, set a distance or a time you want to accomplish. Once you reach this goal, celebrate your accomplishment, then the next time you exercise increase the amount. Remember, it is okay to start small with your targets. Everyone starts somewhere and there is always room for improvement.

One way you can help reach these goals is by finding an accountability partner. This brings us to our second piece of advice. It is much easier to stay on track if you have someone doing it with you. Even though you are unable to work out with friends during quarantine, there are so many creative ways to have a virtual accountability partner. Find someone who will encourage you and push you to reach your goals, and then do the same. Challenge each other in friendly competition over FaceTime or Zoom. Text a buddy and get moving!

The last and most important thing you should remember while working out at home is to have fun with it! Pick workouts that you enjoy doing. This will help keep you motivated and excited for the next workout. There are so many ways to keep working out fun! Create an upbeat playlist that you can listen to while you exercise. Find an app that will demo the movements and guide you through the workout. Start a Couch to 5K program. No matter what you do, the most important thing is to keep moving. This can look different for everyone; just do what you enjoy!
